Meet Molag Ball! (yes like from The Elder Scrolls) He is a Cross River puffer, or tetraodon Pustulatus. Hailing from, you guessed it, the Cross River, he serves as the perfect ambassador for what we stand for.
Cross River Puffer (Tetraodon pustulatus)
Origin: Nigeria
Locale: Cross River
Diet: Carnivore, feeding on mollusks, worms, and frozen foods
Adult Size: 16″
Recommended Tank Size: 200+ Gallons
Compatibility: As with most pufferfish, they may nip at or eat other fish so tankmates (if any) should be chosen carefully

This beautiful West-African landscape between Nigeria and Cameroon faces challenges such as deforestation, mining, agricultural runoff, and pollution on a daily basis, shrinking their livable habitat and leading to their endangered status. While the aquarium trade is a factor in their decline in the wild, many hobbyists do not provide them with the care and space they need. Ultimately the decision of homing him in my aquarium was based on this, and the fact that he had lived in a 20 gallon aquarium prior to his current home. Unfortunately, they are not known to breed in captivity, a common solution to native population decline, so it is my ultimate goal to achieve this, and do a small part in helping this beautiful species!
As a molluscovore, his preferred diet consists of things with hard shells, like clams and mussels! He also likes treats like shrimp, and my finger when I'm cleaning the tank.
